One of our favorite places in the spring is Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.  There's a short writeup on it in CTJ.  We like sitting and having coffee and a snack in the visitor's center overlooking Pikes Peak and hiking through the red rock monuments.  The Trading Post is also a great place to shop.  They have really nice artwork.

We like to take the family to Roxborough State Park on the southwestern edge of Denver.  The Fountain Valley Trail is an easy to moderate hike of about two and a a half miles that is beautiful in the spring with the plants and wildflowers.  We usually see herds of deer and occasionally a fox or coyote.  The red rock outcroppings are really neat. Cool

A great place for photography in Garden of the Gods is Siamese Twins trail.  At the top of the trail there are amazing rock formations that come together to form a large opening that you can photograph Pike's Peak through.  Joe
